91Jan23 10:53 am from Dan Johnson
I've engaged the TKC KNotwork version in the KNOT door again. The Campaign area
seems to be functioning, so anyone interested in getting a commision in one
ofthe armies can do so through there.
91Jan23 7:21 pm from Dundain Aberon
Major Dome Guard - A look in campaign tree in the KNOT TKC will show you that
you now have a new superior officer - me - Colonel Dundain Aberon. The first
order of business will be to disband Army3 and assign all personel to Army1.
Once that is completed I plan to challenge the Goblin Master to campaign and
take care of him and Black Knight once and for all, whether they are locked in
Bubbletown or not.
Sir Tarrakon - I did not realize that you have Major rank as well. If I
understand things correctly this should ensure Army1 victory over the Goblins
- as at present they only have one Major and therefore should only have half
the campaign force.
Once this issue is resolved then I plan to set up a new order based on a
Military Regime. Keeps shall be assigned on rank, so others of the realm are
encouraged to sign up in Army1 to ensure a place in the New Order.
Sir Galaxy - You should change armies as well to Army1
91Jan23 7:42 pm from Dan Johnson
Forsome reason the Citadel TKC Door has begun to act up. Thereis no
explainable reason for this as I have made no changes in sometime. Dundain
checked out the KNOT Door's TKC to be okthough so for now please log onto KNOT
and use TKC access by that means.
91Jan23 9:43 pm from Major Dome Guard
Col. Aberon: All officers under my control have been regrouped in Army1. With
those that you have already move it leaves only Sir Galaxy in Army3, so we
should be ready to move on the goblins by his next call.
91Jan23 11:04 pm from Dan Johnson
I've installed the newer Turbo Pascal 5 version as a door through Citadel as
well, so that there is no longer a need to enter KNOT Door, yet users are
still enouraged to explore that BBS, as soon a very good space adventure game
will be opened for game play in that package; called CLUSTER; in the
TRAVELLER's style of play.
The new version can be reached by typing .D TKC, as always. It contains both
the new member and reg door as menu options. So even new users/players need
only type .D TKC to get into the game.
91Jan23 11:58 pm from Dundain Aberon
Major Dome Guard - Good job.
There will be a few days pause before going into Campaign. Those wishing a
place in the New Order should sign up in the Command Tree Option in the newer
TKC. Join up with Army1. Lords wishing to ensure retaining thier Keeps in the
New Order would be advised to buy as high a rank as possible, as they shall be
assigned in accordance to rank.
Our stratigy shall be a simple one. We shall search and destroy the squads in
which the Goblin Master and Black Knight are travelling. Our superiority in
numbers shall then ensure a victory. To arms! To rid our realm of the goblin
pest so as to usher in the New Order!
91Jan24 7:16 am from Sir Galaxy
I have changed army to Army1, Sire. Strange that Army3 still exists with
nothing but NPC privates!?!
91Jan24 from stewart
Dundain: I am currently located outside your ke ( cjfdtroll keep). Please
expect me to be arriving soon i think.... thanks
91Jan24 11:12 am from Dan Johnson
There may still be problems with the setup of the TKC Door, so KNOT is advised
access to TKC for the moment.
91Jan24 1:07 pm from Dundain Aberon
Sir Galaxy - Good to have you aboard.
Steward - You shall be welcomed at Troll Keep. Enter by the gate at 1959 and
you will then find a Market just north of that. An armorer will equipe you in
the market, if you wish. Just leave him a message in his log, during
encounter. Should you wish to join in the campaign leave me mail before
joining as an Officer's Rank may be made available under certain conditions.
91Jan24 10:49 pm from Dundain Aberon
All but Army1 personel are to sell all Banking Shares. Once the campaign
begins any found on the Share Holders list and not in Army1 will be sought and
killed. This is so that the market price can be controled to finance the
building of the Realm in the New Order.
91Jan24 from stewart
tank you for your help and support i am trying to follow what is going on .
thanks again.
91Jan25 5:40 pm from Dan Johnson
I have started in on help pages for the game. Theywill be made more detailed
soon, with a Help Option for each menu choice avilable on each menu. This
should ease gameplay considerably for new users I hope.
91Jan25 9:16 pm from Dan Johnson
Users will now find the Main Menu totally covered by help page system. Type
'?' to get the main menu. That page will then explain how more detailed info
covering each option can be generated.
91Jan26 10:10 am from Dundain Aberon
Your welcome, Stewart. I will have need Keep Guards while on Campaign. Once
you have been equiped with weapons and armor send mail and we could discuss
further employement.
91Jan26 2:58 pm from Dan Johnson
We;ve finally gotten the setup for the KNOT door to detect baud correctly. The
TKC door may still require some CTRLs from remote until some coding fixes are
complete. So if there is any difficulty players are advised to use the KNOT
BBS to access the game.
91Jan27 12:51 am from Dan Johnson
A few irregularities have revieled themselves in the Battle and Gossip File
areas tonight. Niether should be relied on too much until repairs are
announced. I witnessed a very brave (or stupid orc) take out a fully equiped
Army3 Foot Soldier with his bare hands. I also witnessed gossip tree postings
going to the character's log instead, so no telling where the character's log
is written to... perhaps the player'slog. :)
91Jan27 2:02 am from Sir Tarrakon
Dundain, I too, look forward to victory in the upcoming campaign. I am please
to announce the return of a distinguished Errant Keep Knight. Knightflyer4,
who served under Lord Ulfgar my predesesor, has excepted a commision of
SubAltern in Army1 with my sponsership.
91Jan28 6:37 pm from Dan Johnson
Battle routines seem to be functioning again...
91Jan28 10:20 pm from Dundain Aberon
stewart - My armorer reports that he has equiped you. You will need to place
the lance in your right hand to be used in combat. Your first duty could be to
make the rounds of the outside of the keep wall, so as to familiarize yourself
with the place. Then an interior tour shall be arranged by Hawkeye. Feel free
to roam a little away from the keep in search of any with an odd or enemy
loyalty.
A Foot Soldier has been assigned to accompany you. This will give added
protection, as he should be encountered first, if you are on the same hex and
section. If you set your character's loyalty to itself, then FootSoldier1 will
accompany you. As he is directly under my control it will allow me a means of
watching your progress.
91Jan30 12:17 am from Dan Johnson
I have begun to attempt time sync. Movement Points are now carried in the
character record and logging in and out of the character should be allowed as
long as the character has movement points left. The Utility will reset it to
the default for that character type. Until then I can refresh a character in
the Owner's Menu. So let me know ifyou need MPs. I shall add modes to allow
characters to be using thier time that a player may not call in... as up till
now game days could be saved. I found this to draw away from any stratigy the
game play had, as enemey could come sweeping out of thier keeps... rape and
pillage... then be back safe in thier beds by next call in. At least this way
one has the posssible opportunity to stage a counter attack.
91Jan30 2:19 am from Dan Johnson
Gate Seiging is being handled a bit crudely at the moment. Whether the gateis
successsfully seiged or not the game is exited. The character would be placed
in the locked hex that it was sieging, however. This is just due to a TP3
logicproblem and shall be addressed later on.
91Jan30 2:21 am from Dan Johnson
My thanks go out to the Orc Legions for all the testing...
91Jan31 2:20 am from Major Dome Guard
Sir Tarrakon: Give a warm welcome to Knightflyer4. I have been comrade in arms
with his fellow knights at Ulfgar's Storming of The Dome.
Curdin: Army3 Navy2, which was reported in TKC Obituary> was at RockWaller's
west gate. Best llok into the matter. Please send mail regarding your ETA.
91Jan31 5:51 pm from Dan Johnson
I have begun to send automated messages to the KNOT message base from TKC.
Rightnow each time a character accesses the Market Menu a message is written
to KNOTWORK MEMBERS LOCAL LOUNGE (MLL) Address, giving the character's name
and hex it was sighted on. I shall be adding posts concerning battling and
logging deaths. Hard Core players are advised to use the M P
options of the KNOT Door to access the game and better kep abreast of game
activity. The Gossip Trees of the game will soon be made obsolete. Also
messages betwen characters/players will be able to be handled if the player is
registered in KNOT Door, in the near future.
91Jan31 9:49 pm from Dan Johnson
Auto Obtituary Messages are now sent to the KNOT Message Base. I will be
adding acheck to see if any other characters are on the hex where the death
takes place and if so then that should support witnesses enough to report the
killer in such cases. Yet for now just the death is reported and the hex it
took place on.
91Feb01 1:46 pm from Dundain Aberon
Curdin - I have two engineers at your desposal for road building. They shall
be sent to RockWaller once the all clear is heard from you - Curdin oh Curdin
- Oh Oh.
91Feb01 2:53 pm from Dan Johnson
I have installed a check at load up of the game to see if the system date is
the same as the one found in file LOG.DAT. If it is then things just continue
normally. If they are different then all the characters get thier movement
points refreshed and negative modes are removed and the LOG.DAT File updated.
Thus players should be able to phone at midnight to force a refreshening.
91Feb03 8:42 pm from JIM SANGSTER
DAN,
There seems to be a problem in the routine for creating new characters in
TKC. When asked wor my password in OUTSIDE OPPS.REG CHAR it doesn't accept
the one I just gave it. Could it have something to do with the need to hit
ENTER twice when entering name and password in REG CHAR? Only one ENTER is
needed when "writing" the pasword in the previous menues.
It just seems a little odd to me.
By the way, how do I turn on XANSI from TKC?
Chat later...
91Feb03 9:24 pm from Dan Johnson
I still have not totally integrated that area of the code, Jim. Therefore a
double enter is still nessasary I think. I'm phoning from remote and shall get
on that tommorrow on my return. Thanks for the reminder.
All passwords are case sensitive, so that could be partly your problem as
well. I.E. 'Test', 'TEST' and 'test' all being unique passwords.
I would only recommend Xansi useage after you have downloaded either
PRIEST.EXE (available in the KNOT Door for downloading) or MORTAL.COM, both
termianl packages from MarkM of Knotwork Labs, to handle Xansi.
91Feb04 12:13 am from Mark Metson
Jim has PRIEST, and in any case was calling out from Lobe 1000 which also has
PRIEST.
91Feb04 1:45 am from Dan Johnson
OK then Xansi is turned on with option 6 of the Settings Menu... found in
option 9 of the Main Menu.
91Feb06 12:10 pm from Mark Metson
The settings menu isnt available til a character is loaded. Jim had problem
with something like perhaps a CR being accepted as part of the string it was
the CR to: so password was maybe taken as including a CR or something like
that? Some problem with typing same thing as password not working.
91Feb06 6:21 pm from Dan Johnson
I have streamlined the complete registration process, after watching a few new
users attempt to play for the first time. Now when a non-recognised password
is given to the "7. Load Char." Option, the user is prompted for thier first
and last name. The program then checks if they are in the MEMBERS.DAT file. If
they are then a list of characters owned by them with thier passwords comes on
screen and they are sent back to the Character Password Entry Area. If no
characters are found under thier name they are given a chance to make one. If
the player isnot found in MEMBERS.DAT then they are asked if they want to join
and that info is then gathered from them and again they are given the chance
to create a character.
I have yet to see this used by a new user, yet it appears easier to me during
tests. I had noted that most new users tryto enter a password in "7. Load
Char." Option so I think this will catch most ofthem this way.
The double CR thingie was being caused by using READLNs instead of KnotWork
Procedures to input the data. This seems to cause a need for double returns
tocontinue... something you might want to look into for interest sake, for I
have been attempting to remove all input using READLNs and think Ihave
achieved that at last.
91Feb06 9:47 pm from Dan Johnson
Character Log Files will now be created, if not present, when another player
attempts to leave a message through the M option of the Encounter Menu.
This will allow me to clear that directory out fromtime to time to save on
space... as well as ensure that messages can be left.
I will soon be adding a Bulletin File Option which will be the opposite of the
Log File, in that a player can leave a message that will appear when thier
character is encountered.
91Feb06 10:30 pm from Brian Parker
Hello, I am a new worrior and I would like Dundain and Aberon to acknowledge
that am I am at your front door waiting for orders.
91Feb08 11:37 am from Dan Johnson
Entrance to the TKC Door is under modification, in an attempt to streamline
the process for new users, as well as eventually having the power of
Knotwork's knowledge of entities at the game's disposal. Therefore the first
password that the user will be prompted for is thier OWN/USER/PLAYER's one.
The name compared will be the name of the account that citadel has left in a
temporary file. So be sure to access the door with a true named Citadel
Account so that the true name of the player is looked up in the TKC Files.
This would be the area that had been called New User on the main menu.
91Feb08 9:17 pm from Dan Johnson
The newest version of the game is now online. It prompts for a password to
match the Player's Name in the TKC Files. The Name is assumed to be the one
passed by Citadel of the User Account logged in when 'dooring out'. Therefore
regular players should ensure that they use a REAL NAMED Citadel Account to
access the T.K.C. Door. This will become even more critical in the future, so
good to make a habit of it.
91Feb09 12:37 pm from Mark Metson
As long as you are giving your REAL NAME to Citadel, it will doubtless
simplify everything in the long run if you are also careful upon telling the
Knotwork your TRUE NAME, to SPELL IT EXACTLY THE SAME WAY. This will later
permit Citadel and Knotwork to better agree as to who is who, to recognise you
easily as you pass back and forth between Citadel and Knotwork. It will thus
let you pass back and forth more freely.
On the other hand, Dan, we also will likely want to allow a Sysop
configuration option of telling Knotwork whether the names passed by Citadel
are expected to correspond to the Knotwork ALIAS, or to the TRUE NAME, or
even, perhaps, be neither and require looking up in a special file of
'aliasses used on other Boards' as we discussed t'other day.
91Feb09 8:37 pm from Dundain Aberon
Brian Parker - As well as any other visitors to Troll Keep
The west gate guard to the foriegn quarter (1958) will have loyalty to my
person - Dundain Aberon - and with that loyalty access through the gate will
be permitted. An armorer is on Keep Staff to outfit warriors.
91Feb10 3:30 am from Orc Foot Soldier1
LAST WARNING FOR THOSE IN MANDY'S KEEP!!!!
Your leader; Sir Kyrian; has payed no heed to our warnings that if the gates
were not thrown open to my troop, we would take no prisoners!!!
When the main attack group arrived thisevening I personally lead the first
assault to feel this enemey. A brave yet unequiped youth tried bar my way!!! I
smit him which raised my troops' moral considerably. His name should be
remembered in the annals of our rise to power; Torsk The brave.
Orc Foot Soldier36 was sent ahead to scout the Inner Keep gate. He chanced
apon Storm Kensai 1; who drove him back. Orc Foot Soldier16 rushed forward at
the smell of blood and wears his new oriental adornment in a proud; if not
amusing; manner.
So close to slaughter Orc Foot Soldier14 rushed the gates under the fallen
Kensai's command. They held fast yet felt his furry before felling him. A
witness to the SEIGE.DAT file in this room's directory; shows what little
fight remains from us and them that are inside!!! 210 Hit Points!!! I rested
down my force till morning when our final assault begins!!!
91Feb10 1:08 pm from Orc Foot Soldier1
UPDATE AT MANDY'S KEEP!!!
Orc Forces have broken through the Inner Keep gates!!! An advance force
struck out to the Guild House and now holds it, as well as the Inner Keep gate
itself. I had my forces hold positions and regroup; remove wounded from the
gate seige; therefore those inside the Keep have yet one last opportunity to
lay down thier arms. Once fresh troops arrive to the attack group the massacre
shall commence!!!
91Feb10 5:14 pm from Orc Foot Soldier1
MANDY'S KEEP IS NOW UNDER ORC CONTROL!!!
Sir Kyrian; of what court I have no idea; has been slain by valiant Orc Foot
Soldier23. This only leaves the remaining few in the market and inner keep. My
advise is to surrender immediatly, as once my troops have refreshed themselves
the Inner Keep shall be cleared. My appollogies to Army3 for having Army3
Soldier25 in the wrong place with the wrong loyalty.
91Feb10 9:38 pm from Dundain Aberon
Orc you shall only retain the keep if you take commission in army1 - with high
enough rank to ensure a Keep is assigned - in the New Order. I had suggested
Sir Kyrian Iolair do the same - army1 support could have been useful to him at
such a time. :-)
91Feb12 10:27 am from Dundain Aberon
I have a mariner in the northern isles on a slave run - any interested
passsengers to the southern mainland should leave mail.
91Feb13 12:44 am from Orc Foot Soldier1
I shall no doubt choose an army; Dundain; yet which is yet to be decided. We
Orcs lay full claim on Mandy's Keep and all mountain lands ajoining it. Let
any who rebuke our claim come forward; my force itches for battle!!!
91Feb13 6:54 pm from Dan Johnson
Players who arenot accessing T.K.C. through the KNOT Door are missing all
automated messages generated by the game; announcing deaths, market activity,
guild acceptence and soon to be added muchmore. Locations are given of the
Notices to aide new players; unfamiliar with the map; where action is taking
place in the game.
To access the game through KNOT type M and then P once logged
onto KNOT Door (Knotwork Lobe 1007).
91Feb13 9:43 pm from Troll King
The land will soon rumble once again under the marching of the Troll Army and
the orcs will scurry back under whatever vile rock they came out of in the
first place. All should prepare for the coming...
91Feb14 1:24 am from Torsk the brave
It is I Orc Foot Soldier #1, from the dead the Troll King has many friends in
many places and they will unite in a single force against though. The hier to
my name roams the land in search of orcish blood. Beware!!
91Feb14 1:59 pm from Troll King
Any who wish to join me and my powerful allies leave me mail so we can rid the
land of the scum and raise a new era of peace...
91Feb14 2:03 pm from Troll King
The Orcs already fear me as they are trying to bargain with me...
91Feb14 2:06 pm from Troll King
re akin than the humans; which control at this very moment Troll Keep. With
the ever slumbering Goblins of Bubbletown; I suggest we usher in a new age
of non-human riegn in the Kingdom. I would be satisfied with the
Northern Isles and leave the southern mainland for you and the Goblin Master
to divide. The Northern Isles have never been of interest to Trolls; at
least in all my research. Perhaps we could also assist you in reclaiming
your lost throne. Be not so fast to judge us; we may have more in common
than you give us credit.
This is what I got from a frightened orc who already wants to bargain. ORCS
BARGAIN WITH THIS YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED IN THE KINGDOMS AND PEACE WILL REIGN
WHEN YOUR BLOOD SOAKS INTO THE LAND FOREVER!!!!
91Feb14 4:23 pm from Orc Foot Soldier1
So be it Troll King!!! To lend temper to your words an Orc Force struck at
Rockwaller; the coastal Troll Kingdom port; killing Grimly Dwarf and pillaging
the Keep. I take no battle to the Trolls themselves until I hear of your
exceptance by them; and in particular where Dundain Aberon stands on the issue
of Orc exceptence. He had offered me commision in Army1 before your sudden
appearence; so you best have something to back up your threats!!!
91Feb14 6:29 pm from Dundain Aberon
Orc - I stand behind the Trolls of Troll Keep. If they except this King as
thier own - then I as Commander of The Royal Troll Guard - shall offer him my
hilt. On the other hand should they defrock him as an imposteur to the long
awaited Troll King - not being a politician - I would be obligated to except
thier virtict. As the Troll King is not within the walls of Troll Keep - at
present - I reserve judgement on the matter - though the attack on Rockwaller
was seen as overly excessive - no matter his validaty.
91Feb14 9:19 pm from Troll King
As proof that the Trolls accept me I have brought Snake Eye's Troll back to
life as is my powerful magic!! Snake Eye being the proud Troll cannot accept
his defeat and feels that he cannot be the commander of the Royal Troll Guard
and at his asking I declare Dundain Aberon as the Commander of the Royal Troll
Guard, as you must be a mighty warrior to take Troll Keep. As for those of
you who feel that a human can be the commander I bring to your attention that
the Present Troll Keep was rebuilt by a human, Blackrin, after the flood.
I have been asked why am I being so warlike...That is because I cannot stand
what I see, orcs and goblins should not be on the surface for they are an
insult to nature herself. If the Mighty Fire Elf was here he would have them
burning! I plan to raise the land to the might of the old Kingdom, King
Mandorellan, and the Fredricks!!!
I declare war on the Orcs on behalf of all the good folks of the land to
banish them.
I have spoken.
Troll King
Bringer of Peace
Destroyer of the Evil Spawn
91Feb14 10:44 pm from Major Dome Guard
I offer you welcome at The Dome, Troll King, should opportunity offer a
chance. Announce your arrival in mail and the gate guards will be notified.
91Feb15 3:06 pm from Dundain Aberon
I am humbled by your honors King of The Trolls. Quarters are being prepared
for you in the eastern wing. Captain Hawkeye of my Personal Guard is
overseeing security - Troll Engineers are onroute from Rockwaller Keep to
assist you in any alterations you care to make to your personal quarters.
Troll Guards are at your service as escort to Troll Keep - just notify me of
the rendez-vous hex in mail.
91Feb16 1:23 am from Goblin Messenger
As most if not all warriors in the realm realize the Goblins in Bubbletown
have been hibernating till warmer weather arrives. The warmer weather has not
yet arrived , and the Goblins within the Bubbletown walls still sleep... for
now.
There be also rumors to the effect that when the Goblins awaken, a new wave
of reenforcements shall come forth. I shall not confirm or deny such a rumor,
and its validity will be determined once the Goblins in Bubbletown awaken.
This particular conflict at present has gained the attention of the
Goblins. I have already sent back word to my homeland of the situation, and
rest assured the Goblin Master will be notified when the frost thaws. As the
Goblin spokesman, I'll make one point clear: the Goblin goal hasn't changed...
we still seek the crown, and land to govern as we please. Although this goal
hasn't changed, in light of the situation at present... the Goblins have no
objection to joint rule of the realm, as long as we are a part of it.
91Feb16 1:35 am from Orc Foot Soldier1
You most certainly will be part of it, friend Goblin!!! Let us unite to squash
the human horde!!!
91Feb16 6:01 pm from Troll King
The Goblins fear my power now as they want to split the land with me. You
will also fall Goblins...
91Feb18 1:20 am from Orc Foot Soldier1
Brother Goblins; we welcome you in this conflict!!! Our united forces shall
prevail!!! Know Troll King the Orcs fear no one!!! My example at Rockwaller
seemed not enough; perhaps Troll Keep would be closer to the heart!!!
91Feb18 8:04 am from Goblin Messenger
Trolls, you are indeed foolish. We don't fear you you any more than we fear
the humans... It was an offer we made you to share in the glory as soon as the
humans have their downfall. Since you don't want to join us you'll die along
side your human companions.
Orcs, glory shall be ours in due time! It is unfortunate the Master and the
General are unaware of this great developement, and it's unfortunate we cannot
provide you any more assistance until the spring... however, my Orc friends,
if you can keep these humans at bay for the time being, when the grass turns
green, and life returns to Bubbletown, victory will be ours!
91Feb18 2:11 pm from Orc Foot Soldier1
We shall hold on and await the Master's awakening!!!
91Feb18 7:10 pm from Troll King
We need a King to rule the land when the scum are driven from the land. Since
there is no royal blood running in anyone's viens a new royal family will have
to be picked. The new King will be the hero of the war so anyone may become
the king. The test of the sword and blood will allow only the greatest to be
the new King to rule the Land...
91Feb18 9:17 pm from Prince Marcus
No royal blood... I beg to differ. I am the son of King Great Gamer, and
was deprieved from the throne by one, now deceased, Ulfgar.
91Feb19 2:10 pm from Troll King
There has only been 2 true royal families. The Fredricks who were the orginal
king and Mandorellan who was elected after what Tobor the Rebel did. All the
others were pretenders. Killing the last king does not make the killer
royality.
91Feb19 3:08 pm from Major Dome Guard
I had the honor to serve under Capt. Max T. Troll, Commander of the Royal
Troll Guard, then retired, as a Soldier in the Dome Guard under Bandit3. He
spoke tales of one noble called Prince Bardia, who was said to have noble
lineage.
91Feb19 7:06 pm from Troll King
Then this Prince Bardia should leave me mail as should any who wish to join
the forces who will cleanse the land. Any who don't might be seen as
scum-lovers or they just don't care which might not please the new king.
91Feb20 2:21 pm from Dan Johnson
After monitoring some game play of late, by both the Orcs and Goblins, I have
decided that a truer simulation of events (as well as fairness of possible
counter attack) would be had by subtracting Movement Points from members of a
squad move. This has been implemented. A notice will come up when one of the
members of the squad has run out of MPs (and is thus left behind). I shall
soon embark on an exit from the Movement Area, at any point in the move. Then
players can terminate the Squad Move should they decide to 'wait up' for a
member of the squad which would be left behind.
This will also elliminate the need to ease loyalty changes. As a leader of a
squad will now tend to remain in that position. I shall be monitoring game
play to see if, in fact, this is the case.
91Feb20 3:44 pm from Dundain Aberon
Arrg - why didn't I move out yesterday? :-)
91Feb20 7:08 pm from Troll King
Dan, that sounds good EXCEPT for mariners. The troops with them are sitting
on a ship doing nothing and when they land they should be able to make their
moves. Is there any way that squad movement on land will take away from all
members but with a mariner only the mariner moving?
91Feb20 8:31 pm from Prince Marcus
Troll King, I won't debate that the Fredericks and Mandorallen were royal
families, but I do believe my father would make the list as well. The
cornonation of King Great Gamer was based on far more than just simply slaying
Mandy. Mandy's death brought civil war to the realm, a long affair if I
remember my history lessons correctly. Months into the conflict came a
surprise announcement from Mandorallen's spirit, and passed on the crown to my
father. It is the passing on of the crown, not the events which took place in
Mandy's Keep that faithful night, which make me believe my father should be
included in the list of royal families. Besides, in times like these where we
face such an enemy like the Goblins and Orcs, we need a king to lead us to
victory... being a survivor of the reign of thelast king, I see myself as an
ideal candidate.
91Feb20 10:57 pm from Troll King
Very well. Why would you make a good king?
91Feb20 11:23 pm from Dan Johnson
Re Mariner Squad Move
I witnessed some sea travel recently and it appeared to make a lot of sence as
far as passengers were concerned. A mariner made a trip to pick up some
passengers and he ran out of MPs first. Those on board were ready to travel
further and could have should another vessel had made rendez-vous with them.
To install what you suggest would be easy enough... yet I don't feel as real.
Just because you are trapped onboard a ship at sea does not mean that you are
not passing time. Only that amount of time while onboard, I should add.

Well for one thing my father's guidance, and another is that Caritas has had
encounters with the Goblins before... we know their stratagies.

I have added a check when moving a character, that the hex type they are
starting off on, is locked or not. If it is then a chance to open the gate is
given, before the move continues. I hope this will elliminate locking hexes
that are empty by mistake.
91Feb23 12:29 pm from Major Dome Guard
Orc Attack:
The King's Party came under great peril late last night and early
thismorning. Before midnight , fairly weak Orc Forces, launched an attack.
Most Orcs were driven back yet all army3 forces were brought on alert and and
moved out on Army3 Navy4 to a position just east of The Dome, within attack
range. After midnight more Orcs and a Warrior of Darkness were brought into
the melee. Army3 Soldier9 was sent forward, up Dome Point, to clear the area.
He is seriously wounded yet cleared all but one Orc, who Army3 Soldier24 came
forward to take out.
I returned to The Dome, to prepare security. The gate guard has been ordered
to except all through the gate at 8248, with loyalty of Comrade. Colonel
Aberon's party should use that loyalty to gain access, as well as the King's
Party, who is urged to make haste to The Dome. This is because more Orcs are
thought to be onroute to the Point, by sea, and will be at striking range at
midnight. Army3 Forces are also posed to move on the Point at that time, and
if need be are confident that they can hold the position. Yet timing would
become a strong factor and the King is urged to retire for his safety.
