Before giving away Samwise's two castles I'd like to include a warning that
anybody trying to hold those castle will find themself dead. I have killed
everyone that is not a friend of Samwise that has entered the place, except
the Guild Master that is. Yes, Guild Master I know you were there. I have eyes
everywhere. This is a warning. I still hold Castle Cain and Stonefist.. I just
don't stay there. I pass through every once in awhile and anybody found there
will be destroyed if their loyalty is not set property. Those that are welcome

I have the password check working only for characters that have been
registered now and have a validated Alias Account with the same name. I am not
sure if all the older version characters have been killed. Probably those like
Fire Elf etc. have not. If you get a 'Non-Validated Accouont' prompt when you
try to load your character just register him and send me mail about it. Give a
new password for the Alias Account than the one being used by the character
and I will change the character file to match it, when I get the mail
explaining that you have one of these characters. This should mean that the
"Buy Henchmen" Henchmen will be accessable.

The 'Buy Henchman' Routine is functionable in it's raw form. It is advised if
used to save immediatly after buying him/her. There will be refinements added
as time goes on.

It is my intention that this routine will bring us into another stage of game
play testing. This routine will give Lords and Barons the men that have been
lacking, up to now, to keep the Kingdom in check. Therefore I envision the
potential of just a few strong players controlling the board in a much more
real sense. It is hoped that this will lead to more warring stratigy in TKC.
I will be adding to the Utility Run the feature of notifying to a door or
something, when the player is elligable to get another account. I shall also
have the Utility create .H USERS so that it is more legable.
I am not trying to squeeze anyone out of the game, nor enforce map sales. It
is the intention with the intro of Bought Henchmen to test a few players with
maps to see what developes. One is still free to be a lone wolf, yet society
should begin to show it's ugly head.

Let it be known that Bardia is not even a candidate for the new King. He is
too much of a unfair man and he fights like a coward, sends in his henchmen to
weaken as he waits to make the kill. Any who will oppose Bardia leave me mail.

that happens. The other major powers in the world already oppose Bardia.
Mandorallen has clearly stated that Bardia is the enemy, and he killed the

is just as he deserves none. I am willing to bet Durin would drive his dwarven
arimes against Bardia if he was asked. Durin I ask not this yet. As I myself
do not come into the world to rid it of Bardia. I come into the world to
install a King, once and for all. Any who oppose the Great King will be saught
out and destroyed. This new King has not yet been named as we watch for worthy
candidates. Seems the list grows smaller as Samwise has perished as hard as
Kirveen tried to make you think differently. That leaves three major lords,
Bardia, Mandorallen and Enduval. Enduval will not accept the position and I
don't find Bardia capable. That leaves only Mandorallen but there is yet much
time before the new King is picked so show me your worth and perhaps you could
sit on the throne.

As to the king-ship, I belive Samwise or Mandorallen would best be fit. As

way he mis-uses his magical abilities, and take them away. Then, we can all

I have loaded the files generated from the test run of the newest version
Utility Run. Please report any discrepancies that may arise. The new Utility
culls the file of any alias records who have been killed and thier alias
accounts have scrolled. Therefore soon you will be able to get a list of
liveing and dead characters of yours by entering the Regular Account Password
at a certain menu choice in the game. PLayers should also soon be able to go
from one character to another of thiers while still in the door in a short
time.

All knights of the Realm, Two Knights who have achieve the highest level, and
have Field Plate or Plate armour shall be awarded Lord Status.
This means that They will own a castle. Travel the Kingdom in thier own
loyalty, have followers who travel with thier Lords loyalty. Towns are not
included, you must have your followers change loyalty to Mandorallen before
entering.

Consideration will also be given to the Knight who Kills Anti-Council, as he
has stated he is an enemy of the Crown.

Well auto-movement is all but there, with a few weak spots to be fine tuned.
This brings us to version 1.59. Once this is bug free I will install this
feature in the Utility Program. The Utility will check to see if Home Hex =
Location Field. If not the Auto-Movement Routine will be engaged. On the menu
will be an option to change the Home Hex, much like Loyalty is done at
present. This will be a magor step towards syncing time in the game. When
auto-healing and auto-working are implimented into the Utility, then we may
consider having the game time synced through the Utility... yet that will be
later. For now let's iron out the auto-mover. It is advised that only map
owners test it at present, and do not enter distances that may take you into
water should you head off in the wrong direction.

There is an easy way for your characters to live longer, we never kill anybody
with loyalties to: Mandorallen, Enduval, Durin or Duke Samwise. Anything else
means death. Loyalties in towns may be exceptions for entrance to STonefist
and Cain are forbidden without writting to Tobor and asking permission
regardless of loyalty.

Exponding on the Clans idea:

Something like having one of the three aliases a male character, another a
female; then roll a 50:50 chance of the third sex. Loyalty could then be the
intermix of blood. Something that could not change in one character's life
span (except perhaps under death of the character, whose loyalty it carried or
somesuch thing) but be blended in a long term scenario from one generation of
character sets (the three aliases) to the next. These thoughts are fresh, so
any feedback on the theme would be appreciated. Particularily how marriages
etc. are normally dealt with in D&D or AD&D RPGs.

Well, in my experience, most mairages in AD&D, or D&D, are rare, but when they
do take place, it usually involves the joining of kingdoms, the making of
peace, a dowry, etc. and aLOTS of money being spent. Of course, if it is
royalty being married, the peasants usually end up paying. If it is pesants
being married, it is either handled by the church, or the money has to be
scraped together by the family/families/people who want to get married/the man
only/the woman only. It can really get messy.

Yeah they no doubt would be, Shaun. I am finding it too sexists to have the
female characters used in such a specialized role. The aspect of loyalty being
much more of a difficult thing to change does still intrigue me. Perhaps
having all secondary characters having automatic loyalty to thier oldest
sibling. The oldest sibling would of course be the first character created.
The loyalty should then pass along for a long time in this fashion, through
generations of charcters, I expect. One thing that would put the loyalty
fields back to 'No One and Nothing' , would be the death of the character
whose loyalty they carry. Any input on that theme would be appreciated.

The clan Idea is not a bad Idea Dan but only if you introduced two Loyalty
levely. 1 : The Lords, Like Mandorallen in a town, then Fire Elf in Haven.
This is realistic. 2 : the Clan loyalty, the one you can have fun with.

I know that you can not have your map above 1104. But could you not expand
the map by an equal amount south ?? Like -1103. I believe you said it had
something to do with a Max Int limit, which should allow you to use negative
Hex values as well. This could move you from asteroid to planitoid or small
moon.

The map is not limited at present for that reason. My maximum amount should be
about 32,000 hexes, or approx. 30 times the present size. When the routines
are working smoothly and the Utility Program acting as it should, I shall turn
to this area. Instead of manually expanding it (it is sort of hard coded right
now) I will try to come up with a function to expand it, saving code space and
allowing for map configuration, to fit special game play.

Did a real (temporary) quick fix to the level problem, to try to stop others
from going over. I tried a test character with 31999 HPs and he is showing a
level 13. I am going to pit him against another test character a little later
to see where the limit happens and if my fix actually works. Try it out if you
care to, yet there are no garrentees what it may do exactly.

I believe I have the correct terrain operating in the Auto-Movement Routines.
There are a few details to iron out, yet let me know if MPs seem to be counted
correctly and if any snags should arise in the terrain type. As soon as we get

travelling across and get rid of the section promts, which should streamline
that option nicely.

The option to change Home Hex has been installed, bringing us to version 1.60.
The default (CTRL or any illegal number) will be the location of character.
This will be used during Utility Run Time, to see if the Utility Program
should move the character, with Auto-Mover. I shall announce when that stage
is to be implimented. For now nothing is affected.

A question: Are we going to have "Queens" in this game? In other words, if I
were to have a female character who was, say, level 9 or something, would I be
able to "marry" with another character and we could form an empire? I have one
male, and one female. I think it would make the game more
realistic if there were marriages (king + queen) Then, the two people who are
married could both be permitted to make one more character each...a
son/daughter heir to the throne. BUT to marry, the two characters must be the
same level...so, asy if Mandy was level 7, and Octavia was level 9, they
couldn't marry because Mandy is (cough) inferior...of course, I don't have a
9th level character, so Mandorallen has nothing to worry about. :-) *I* like
the idea, because I have a female character, but how does it sound to you
guys? (picture this: In the Go To the Market menu, you'd have the "Make a
son/daughter" option, provided you are married. (grinning) A much simpler
version to the real thing, doncha think? :-)

King Mandy was 7th a long time ago.

Dan a dueling room might be a good Idea. Set it up so that the duelers battle
until a person has to withdraw instead of thier attack if they have less than
10hp's. This would allow a final hit of 11 to accidently kill a dueller.

The loser would forfiet all monies, and thier right hand weapon.

None of the lords are lease than 8th level to the best of my knowledge, and we
all have Field Plate Armour. Guess what... That makes a Lord very hard to
kill. Take my advice, don't try it, If you really want to try me, send the
place in mail, and I'll try and meet you that day, be sure to be in mode 1.
That way it is a duel to your death.

Multiple days began happening on it's own (something to do with the
CTDLCNFG.SYS #event command line) and then as mysteriously went away by
itself; almost appearing to try to slowly make up for the extra days gained.
