of power as the Military Chief. I originally felt this next step would not be
necessary, but I shall now relay a message sent to me in mail by Knightflyer
8. Hopefully this will put pressure on you Bandit to remove your forces from
the portal, and at the same time show your true colors.

"I have a message from my Lord Bandit3. Because of the sesitivity of the
situation he thought it best not to communicate directly. Because you have
shown some honor in the past he affords you this explanation, to perhaps save
yourself some hot air. The war has been nothing but good for my Lord. It has
entrusted him with powers, only possible through declaration of war. He is in
no rush for it to end. So do what you must as it will only ensure the
continuance of a stronger power base for my Lord."

We realize you don't want us to withdraw, but don't block our exit or we shall
go about any means necessary to leave. The time of war is over, and let us
leave for the Council has sucessfully kept us from the crown.

I am pleased to announce to the Realm the formation of a new and Higher
Council. It is a body of three Lords, elected from the Lower Council. Thier
mandate is to present motions to the floor of the Lower Council, with Lords
from both Councils voting it into legislation or not.
The Chairperson is automatically a member of the Higher Council, as well as
the two others. At present the members of the Higher Council are Lord Nigel
Troll, Lord Ulfgar and myself, as acting Chairperson.

This may open the way for a fuller democratic process in some Duchies. I
will soon begin the practise once boundaries are decided apon. I would like
to see the Lord of Domia an elected post, with the registered populace of that
Duchie able to partisipate in the voting process through a Council of thier
own. In this manner it would not intefer with the means of appointing Lords in
other Duchies. Perhaps qualification would go to any owning a house within the
Duchie Boundary.

I have come forth to oversee the Goblin withdrawal, and Bandit despite your
efforts, my soldiers will get out of this.
General, I want you to lead the troops to the portal and get as many soldiers
through as possible. If you manage to get a majority of the soldiers through,
you have permission to trash the Dome afterwards. Bandit to this point I
haven't gotten involved, and should my General actually attack your Dome it
will show you the frustration which is building up in our ranks.

Bad news Master... the portal is nowhere in sight. We went to its old
position and found neither portal or ambush.
We couldn't waste the oppurtunity while we are that close to the Dome. Goblin
Soldiers 4 and 7 entered the Dome and both walked out. Reports are coming in
that Nightflyer15 (a mariner) and Council FootSoldier2 were killed. More
importantly we've killed Snake Eyes, the Council's strongest and most
experienced thief.
Now Master with Snake Eyes out of the way, we can finally construct our
fortress. Its rather evident without the portal we will be here a bit longer
so let's capitalize on the oppurtunity.
Oh yeah, Bandit3 in addition to your casualities, you may find your Dome a
little different in appearance than the last time you saw it. I recommend all
to take a new look at the Dome for any opposition and we may do the same to
your keep.

I am sad to inform all that due to slackness in security the raid on the Dome
has been as bad as the Goblins say. I place a 25,000 sps reward on any
information leading to the capture of the Master and 5000sps for any Goblin
Officer and 2000sps for any common Goblin Soldier. This could total as high as
40,000 sps or more should the full group be caught. See how well you can hide
with a price on your heads you scum.

actual be on the map. That was his downfall as the newest character can be
accessed through the REG Door, through a bug. His location was assertained and
Knight Errant I sent out to finish him off. I pray that this may be the end of
things at last and emplore Goblin General to surrender himself and his troops.

The Guild House at 1006 is part of Bubbletown, the Goblin fortress. Although
it does resemble a honeycomb, we prefer to call the sections small bubbles due
to their shape and hence the name Bubbletown. The Guild makes up the west
bubble, and when our engineer gets out of game future we shall complete
construction, as there is yet no storehouse in Bubbletown.
Bubbletown does not fear attackers, for it is only Goblin accessable. However
any snoopers found in the area will be dealt with.
We are not about to explain the reasoning behind the honeycomb shape. Every
inch of Bubbletown is pure engineering brilliance and we shall not be
reveiling its secrets.

For close to three long months the war between Council forces and Goblin
forces has raged and for what? The crown for my Master, who invited his own
death by coming into the battlefield. I, on the other hand have no desire for
the crown, but a spot on the Council would suffice.
I believe it is time for all the realm to know that I have sent the Council
terms of a peace agreement which would satisfy us. I have heard absolutely
nothing in terms of progress in the peace effort the Goblins are making with
the Council.
Quite frankly I am tired of the fighting and I've ordered ALL Goblin soldiers
and officers to abort current military orders and return to Bubbletown and
wait out the Council.
WE are responsibile for the union of the Council. The lords feared us in the
early days of the war and the union was the only way to survive. Well in
Bubbletown, you can't get at us no matter how hard you try, so in essence the
war is over. We tried to flee before through the portal but our effort was
blocked by Bandit3. This time you can't block us, and we shall stay iin
Bubbletown for as long as we want. Before we unified you forces there was
uncivilized morons running around for a little crown. What will happen if the
Goblins simply pack up and flock home to Bubbletown? My guess says the realm
will return to the way it was before the wars, complete disorganization... but
we don't care. If the Council can't be bothered with the peace terms I
offered, the Goblins can't be bothered in providiing sport for lord hopeful
trying to make a name for themselves.
Although all Goblins shall be onroute to Bubbletown and we're not coming out,
we will pay for services rendered. Originally I put 12500 sp for the death of
a Higher Council member, 7500 sp for a lord of the other Council and 2500 sp
for a Captain. I don't have a complete understanding of your new Council, but
it seems to me they are blocking (stalling) the peace movement, therefore the
prices on the Captains and the Lower Council lords shall be dropped. However
to give more inspiration we are raising the price on the Higher Council lords.
We will pay 30000 sp for either Nigel Trolls death or Ulfgar's death, and
15000 sp for Bandit3's death.
Another outstanding matter is Knight Errant I for the murder of the Goblin
Master. Under Goblin legislation, the murder of a Goblin leader is punishable
by death, even if the act was commited in a time of declared war. 15000 sp
will be rewarded for the capture and delivery of Knight Errant I to Bubbletown
for trial.
These prices will be dropped only if the Council accepts the terms of the
peace agreement I proposed, as is.
Until the agreement, no Goblin shall leave Bubbletown, nor do I have anything
else to say in public until Council approves of it. Council, you can't get us,
so the war is over.

**** Major File Problems ****

I am in the process of trying to install a 20 meg Hard Drive.
In the process we have been having problems getting the
Floppy Drive recognised and Iam awaiting a special Util Prg.
that should do the job.

Thismorning when I got up I backed up all game files. During
a test the originals were trashed and I tried to copy the
originals only to find that three of about 12 files were
recognised. IF I could get Nortons on the Hard Disk I think
that they are reclaimable. The offline backups can't even
get online, so Iwill have to suspend things until I can get
the Floppy working.

Until then hard core TKC Players could take the opportunity
to get the feel of CLUSTER in the KNOT Door of the room
B.O.O.N.E.R.

I have the Floppy connected once again and have had a look for thelost game
files with a Utility. The good news is I can get at Jun 2 backups. This would
be previous to the last attack on The Dome when Snake Eye was mortally
wounded. The bad news is there is no trace of the scrambled files... like
never never land. I havecompiled the game software and am just running checks
on configuration files and the like, so the game should be up shortly with a
slighttime burp.

A temporary truce is being nagotiated between myself as Military Leader and
Goblin General. This is only to lead the way for further nagotiations to end
the war. The details of such a peace is up to the Councils, yet for my part I
drop, for now, all bounties that I have placed on any Goblin. It is assumed in
this truce that all Goblins will be inside Bubbletown. As we are still in a
state of war any found outside Bubbletown should be treated as breaking the
truce and dealt with as one would the enemy in declared war.

**** Log Files No Longer Crash Problem!!! ****

I hang my head in shame for the curse of the missing Log Files being with us
for so long. It was a simple check if present. The IF NOT PRESENT WHAT SHOULD
I DO BEFORE I CRASH. I have told it to simply print 'Log File Not Found.' and
all seems fine. This will now give me an opportunity to clean out the Log File
directory which has more files than characters. I want to make sure that all
is as fixed as I think however so please report in Obituary room if the prompt
' Log File Not Found.' appeared during the kill and also any kills that cause
a crash. Once all is tested to be fixed I shall wipe all Log Files and they
can then be created again through option 6 of the main menu.

As noted by the Cheif Smithy, the Keep of the Great King Mandorellen is
open for buisness. My senschal is Sir Kyrian Iolair, and my Captain of the
Guard is Knightflyer 2.... all are welcome to visit for pleasure or buisness,
however, there is a state of war existant, so we maintain a 20 hex radius
security zone. If you are coming to visit, please leave mail to either
myself or the Captain so the patrols know to look out for you.

We have rations for sale at a cost of 25/1sp for "National" orders;
individuals may barter/negotiate with the Senschal. As well, all armor is
available at 1/3 of the normal market price and all weapons are available for
1/2-- however, those wishing to purchase a Katana or similar armor MUST have
forwarded permission from the Jito to the Council, Stormbringer as to right to
weild this status weapon. Guild areas, complete with room and board are
standard fee +10%/month that you stay with us.... to cover the costs of the

It seems that BBSing in general seems Male dominated, as well as Computer
Science in general. At Dal the most number of females I ever had in a CS
Course with me, was 3. This, I hope, may change over time. We have Females on
the Members List and indeed some have become quite active at times. The most
famous Female Character would have tobe Lady Riva Silvercrown, Dutchess of
Troll Keep and betrothed of Lord Blackgrin.

Normally my Military Leader, the Goblin General would be addressing the
populus of the realm, but he intends to say nothing publically until some form
of peace agreement is worked out between the Council and my General.
To help along the peace agreement it has been noted by Goblin historians that
Bandit3 has dropped the prices on the heads of all Goblins. Previous to this
my General announced prices on the heads of the lords of the Higher Council,
and a reward for the capture of Knight Errant I, the one who slayed the Goblin
Master.
It is now our turn to announce the prices on the heads of the lords of the
Higher Council are dropped. Knight Errant I is a tougher story. Like your
population we too have our own Charter which we follow. Unfortunately the
assassination of a Goblin leader means penalty of death. We do not want to go
back on our own Charter but I believe we can safely drop the charges against
Knight Errant I while still following our Charter. The assassination of the
Goblin Master came after our Dome raid (which the backups brought the
casualties back to the world of the living), and therefore the Master is no
longer dead, so the charges against Knight Errant I are no longer valid.
The Goblin General unlike our Master has no greed for the crown. He would be
more than content with unquestioned control of Bubbletown. There is another
section of our Charter which I should state. Only the strongest can lead the
Goblin Army. After the Master was slayed we Goblin Soldiers were shocked. It
turned out our Master was not the God we thought him to be. I speaking for the
soldiers can report we follow the General and should the Master ever brave to
come forth again, his power would instantly be challenged by my General. The
terror of the Goblins was out of fear of the Master. Now that the truth is
known, there shall be no more problems for the Goblins will never follow a
loser like the Master again.
It was of fear of the Master that I myself killed your Fire Elf. I am by no
means avoiding responsibility, and the Goblins shall follow Section 7 in your
Charter. We shall hand over 50 000 silver for the murder of Fire Elf as part
of the terms of a truce which hopefully will lead to a peace settlement.

It don't matter cause they were killed long ago in a raid of Troll Keep, which
cause the Great Captain Max D. Troll to close seal thte Keep and slay all the
humans there. Reading some to the older msgs is quite interesting.

You fine payment shall be excepted Goblin Soldier 7. There is one stigma that
shall remain with you as set forth in the charter. That is that you shall
never in future be considered for a Council Seat, yet your life shall be
spared for the murder of Lord Fire Elf. I suggest you pay the fine as quickly
as possible so as to clearify your status as a wanted murderer.

I have been running them each day for almost a week now. Perhaps some players
are not aware that Squad Movement now costs the entire Squad a day when
advanced, as well as mining takes one day per dig...

Finding life quite agreeable at the Capital, I have decided to Quarter there
for an indefinite period of time. The Western wing shall be my main quarters
and I shall continue to oversee the rest of the Capital in the capacity of
Military Leader of The Council Forces.

That being so I name Dr. Who as Baron of The Dome, to oversee The Dome and
it's surrounding lands.

My condolences go out to all of Troll Kingdom. Lord Nigel was a close friend
and trusted allie. Capt. Snake Eye Troll of the Council Force will journey to
Troll Keep once relieved of Command at The Dome by Baron of Dome, Dr. Who. He
shall act in the capacity as overseer of the Keep. If the Trolls should decide
to choose him as thier new Commander of The Royal Troll Guard, then he shall
be relieved of Council Duty. He is at present the oldest of all in the land,
let alone any Trolls and will make an exceptable Commander. However that is
all out of my jurisdiction.

Black Knight is wanted for the murder of a Lord of the Council as set forth
in section 7 of the charter. It is my personal belief that he was little more
than a hired assasin however...
