90May01 9:44 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
I thank you Dr. Who. The citizen's approval is the constant effort of the
Council.
90May01 9:46 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
With the Utility Fixed fear not for a midnight raid into the Stockade, Prince
Marcus. This will allow more time for the Council to be heard on this matter
of your treason.
90May01 10:00 pm from Dr. Who @The Mall [455-8615]
Well. I was trusted by you and Nigel to be given arms/armor...so I
guess we'z even...I still wish to remain a 'Human Troll' Foot Soldier.
90May01 10:43 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
I fear that fighting is not yet over. Son of Warlord and all the Island Guards
will have to be dealt with if they do not choose to follow thier crowned
Prince in surrender... if he indeed soes that...
90May01 11:32 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
A prompt is now given to mine or not when on type 1 (Open Country) and 'On Hex
Actions' is choosen from the main menu.
90May02 12:50 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
The weapons being carried and the armour being worn by characters which are
encountered is now displayed on the output. There is no mention of which
hand(s). This should simulate the situation where the encountered character
chooses which weapon to use if attacked.
90May02 1:57 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
The REG Door routines installed in the game have had a few mods. They are
accessed either from the password prompt by entering REG (Upper Case) or
option 2 sub-choice 6, of the main menu. When Changing Settings once a
character is selected it remains loaded until that sub-menu is exited or a
return is hit instead of a name when selecting another. There is also an
option to list Loyal Followers and a list will come up of all characters with
that character's name as a loyalty. This will open the way of better NPC
control by a Lord.
90May02 2:28 am from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
In case the young Prince Traitor should try a defence, rather than confession,
I would point to the fact that he and his troops have been housed three days,
and who knows how many days as sea, with the Goblins and they have not lost a
man to either side. There can be no question of his treachery to the Council
and the Realm!
90May02 3:45 am from Colin MacNeill @The Mall [455-8615]
Nifty. Really, very nifty. Looks neat. Must require some amount of effort
to get all the stuff down, but very, very neat. Thanx.
90May02 7:49 am from Gen Caritas Knights @The Mall [455-8615]
Bandit3, you're jumping to conclusions... the point of the matter is after
our funds were stolen Caritas was left with less than 10000 sps, not even
enough to construct a market. We asked Bandit3 for a loan but were refused.
Desperate for money we offer the Goblins a one way trip to the Capitol to
stock themselves with materials from the market. It was planned to be a trap,
and it was less than 24 hours the party spent at sea. This war could have
been over if the trap worked, but Bandit3 stepped in...
We are declaring ourselves neutral, and we have gone our separate ways.
90May02 9:56 am from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
You were not refused. You were told once all the Markets that *do exist were
secured we would think of interest free loans to construct more! Look like
pregnancy one cannot be a 'little' treasonous. You are both charged as
covorting with the enemey for whatever reasons is not important.
90May02 7:37 pm from Dr. Who @The Mall [455-8615]
How 'bout the council chooses a jury, judge and representatives to put
these 'innocent til PROVEN guilties' on the stand?
90May02 8:16 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
Dr. Who:
War has been declared and in such time, as you can see by reviewing the
Charter, I as Chairperson become Military Chief. No one could object for a
Military Chief to have traitors hung, yet I want order to succeed this war and
not the rule of the sword, so I shall bow to the law making process in
development. At present The Council of Lords is discussing the issue, with the
Prince and General of Caritas Knights still having thier vote, as we have yet
no provisions for such cercumstance. I seriously doubt that our governing is
at a sufficient development to handle juries, yet a Tribunal of Lords will be
the outcome for there are 5 Lords in total at present on the Council. I would
only have vote in a tie. So we could assume that the Prince and General would
vote in favor of thier lives, thus two Lords will vote and I will break a tie.
90May02 8:46 pm from Dr. Who @The Mall [455-8615]
Question...
What if those two 'grease palms' of the other two members (Nigel, and
Ulfgar)
90May02 12:01 am from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
The Prince and his pack of traitors were caught trying to tunnel out last
night. There alliance with the Goblins is growing more obvious each day. Not
to mention the fact that they are self-admittedly broke, I feel that the
Tribunal they will face will be an honorable and unbribable one.
90May03 2:57 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
The List of Followers in the REG area now gives those listed location. The
Command Range Option of the same menu is not fully operational, yet shall be
the scab of immediate hexes and will allow the Player to adjust settings on
those characters even if not thier's per se.
90May04 3:43 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
The option 7 of option 4 of the REG Door area installation is now functioning.
I shall soon be patching in things that a loaded character will be able to
change on those characters loyal to it and in the immediate hex surroundings.
Input in that regard would be appreciated in Royal Blood Inn room base.
90May04 4:43 pm from The "P" @The Mall [455-8615]
I will ask this of who ever ye may be one last time; if you d'na have the
common courtesy te answer, I'll find out me-self.
Who owns the Keep at 5629? I have been waitin' fer an answer from ye fer
two weeks now. I know there is someone there, as there are two people
standing atop the arches, apparently in defense.
The "P"
90May04 6:17 pm from Knightflyer 2 @The Mall [455-8615]
The "P":
You are at the gates of Lord Ulfgar's Keep. I had served under Lord Flavius
Flyer and know it well. It is said that Lord Ulfgar is in great study and
meditation and does not want disturbance, the guards given orders to answer no
calls. He should be finished this Orcish Rite by Harvest Time I was told.
90May06 12:25 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
Character Sketches and Log Reading are now options in the REG Door Character
Setting Option. This way characters can be monitored pretty well without Game
Time costs.
90May06 5:37 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
Evidence has recently crossed my desk which implicates Goblin General and
Goblin FootSoldier7 in the murder of Lord Fire Elf as contrary to section 7 of
the Charter. I therefore formally lay charges on them both as Chairperson of
the Council and shall refer the matter to the other Lords. As they are
presently prisoners of war at The Dome, not much else will differ.
90May06 10:34 pm from The "P" @The Mall [455-8615]
Just how many Dwarve are there about the lands? I've run in't two so
far.... na' particularly chatty fellows, but a stout lot. Are ye a clan, or
are ye each unto himself?
90May07 7:02 am from Goblin General @The Mall [455-8615]
I wouldn't say that we were still prisioners inside the Dome, for quite the
opposite is true. In a dawn raid, our forces picked the 8282 temple lock,
proceeded north to your unguarded and open Guild. Here a few soldiers began
their studies, one of which became a mariner. We also managed to access the
market and rearm the soldiers. Our new mariner then led us to the 8254 temple
where Domian Fighter 2 was killed for blocking our escape.
We are now clear of the Dome, but don't worry Bandit3, we'll be back once the
troops are reorganized. You can't stop the Goblins!!!
90May07 8:02 am from Prince Marcus @The Mall [455-8615]
An early celebration Goblin, for you didn't escape without casualities. We
heard the screams of the Dome Guards as you went forth with your exit. The
panic, the blood, and the terror were all present. Perhaps your escape was a
bit too hastly for you left your Major behind. Either you were too careless
and left him behind, or he stayed to attack the Dome singlehandily. At either
rate, he was found by Caritas Knight6 and executed on the spot. Of course
after seeing the open passageway to the outside, we called our only loyal
mariner left in to pick us up.
Bandit3, consider the Knight's action in killing the Goblin Major (who we
believe was there to attack your forces) as the Caritas appreciation in aiding
my lord Great Gamer when he was in the Dome.
90May07 9:40 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
Mode changes in the REG Door area are now functionable.
90May07 10:47 am from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
I shall cut you Goblin General down without a warning when next we meet. This
shall be done in an act of war. Prince Marcus and Gen of Caritas Knights, you
are not only charged with all the other charges up to now, but direct
disregard of orders by the Military Chief of the Council Forces. I sentence
you to death.
90May07 12:24 pm from Goblin General @The Mall [455-8615]
We shall see who is the strongest, when next we meet. Don't blink for its not
that far away...
90May07 2:06 pm from Lord Tyr @The Mall [455-8615]
I have been stranded far north in the outer limits of the world. I have
not much to offer but my services. I ask that a mariner come to my aid and my
loyalty shall be devoted to them. I need help and shall be eternally
grateful.
Lord Tyr of Darkstone

The Knight of Love2:

90May08 12:24 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
The Coomand Range Option in the REG Door area, will now allow loading
characters that belong to the player to be loaded from that menu, if they are
in range. This is done by numbered index rather than name to hopefully speed,
and ease, the process. Other Player's Characters will also be able to handled
yet I would like to discuss to what degree, a bit more, in Royal Blood Inn
Message Base.
90May08 9:10 pm from Ulfgar @The Mall [455-8615]
I wish people (Shadow people) or whoever you are would stop leaving messages
like you control the Assassin's Guild and know me personally or something. I
don't really appreciate it.
90May08 9:10 pm from Ulfgar @The Mall [455-8615]
Glad to see my name has finally been cleared in thG/w!yoblins issue. I think
this also proves I had nothing to do with Warlord's death.
90May08 9:20 pm from Ulfgar @The Mall [455-8615]
Sorry P or whoever is outside my Keep, but at the moment I cannot allow
entry. I am constructing an outer courtyard with a market and temple to be
available hopefully for public use in the future when people are a little more
trustworthy and not in league with Goblins and Caritas, not that you are or
anything but..
90May08 9:32 pm from Dr. Who @The Mall [455-8615]
"P",Leave me some mail...I may be able to help you.
90May08 10:15 pm from Nigel Troll @The Mall [455-8615]
The people in the keep at 6442 are to leave mail to me and open up the gates
or they will discover the latest addition to the Troll Army and its magic!
90May08 10:23 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
The Council has voted to expell Prince Marcus and General of Caritas Knights.
They are no longer Lord's of the realm and thier property is confiscated by
the Council. A Force is at present securing the Old Capital and Mandy's Keep.
They are sentenced to death on sight and would probably ensure a Lordship for
any warrior of the realm to bring thier heads.
Son of Warlord:
You are to have all Island Guards set to mode 2 and prepare for a Council
Force to inspect the Keep. You are releaved of any command assigned you by the
Prince.
90May08 10:45 pm from Sir Kyrian Iolair @The Mall [455-8615]
For those who mis-construed, that does not mean bring the heads of the
Force at Mandorellen's Keep. ;->
90May09 11:07 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
When the 'Lead' Character's day is advanced, during Squad Movement, then all
characters travelling with that character have thier day incremented as well.
At present this could have the effect of moving 'passenger' characters into
Game Future.
90May09 12:44 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
There had been a bug in the Payday Option of the Market Menu for a
considerable amoun of time, which has now been fixed. One could only gain the
extra weighted pay per day (using IP field of hex and level of character to
determine it) only if one day at a time were calculated. Now the mutilple work
days will calculate that amount instead of the default 30/day.
90May09 2:05 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
To aide in not running characters into game future during squad marches, as
well as other things, the character's game day is now also displayed as well
as name and location in both the Loyal Followers and Command Range Options of
option 4 of the REG area.
90May09 9:24 pm from Prince Marcus @The Mall [455-8615]
After debate with the Knights, Caritas has decided to surrender. Our surrender
is not based on any defeats in battle, for our army is as strong as it ever
was, but instead political pressure from some of the Council members.
90May09 9:47 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
Striving for order to evolve from the chaos of war, I have reviewed and
excepted a petition from Caritas that thier expulsion from Council and
sentence of death be afforded the normal seven day voting period as defined in
the Charter. It is a technicality and a bid for time, yet if this Charter is
to be our future order all must abide by it, Lords and layman alike...
therefore section 9 of the charter will not come to a count until May 14. The
count now stands as two yeahs. This is highly irregular to post Council
activity, yet these be irregular times.
90May10 3:23 pm from Stormbringer @The Mall [455-8615]
Class 6, Samurai has been implemented. It is not offered from the Guild
Houses and I currently am the only one in existance. The samurai is first and
foremost a warrior and follows Bushido, the way of the warrior. It involves a
strict code that ends at d a
90May10 3:35 pm from Stormbringer @The Mall [455-8615]
con't last...... that ends at a character's death. Interested characters
must seek me out and request training... Two requirements : Must yield a
katana and wear o-yoroi or yoroi and kabuto. Stormbringer, Jito to Master
Bandit3
90May10 4:48 pm from Dr. Who @The Mall [455-8615]
What special 'purpose' does the Samurai play? IE Mariner to water...
90May10 8:06 pm from Eric Planteur @The Mall [455-8615]
Bandit3;
I think that perhaps Caritas, if they be the kind and reformed souls
they claim, should be given a _chance_ to make good thier claim of innocence
by going along with a previous arrangement that they agreed to by Sir Kyrian
Iolair.
I think that we cannot be killing Lords too quickly, simply because
their are not many left. I am glad to see such adherance to the charter.
90May10 9:29 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
A check is made when loading characters now of the Owner's Stamp and that
Owner's Name will appear in the Main Menu Header. There will be some confusion
with slaves and henchmen. Right now slaves are stamped with the Character's
Name who purchased them as well as Henchmen. I will shortly change that area
to name the online player now that it is known by the program. Even so there
will be a transition period when older characters still live with the wrong
owner's name, say if they have been hired out or whatever. I will make an
attempt to change this with Text Editor, yet with over 300 character records
mistakes and oversights are bound to happen. I therefore would appreciate help
from players in this regard to change the Ownership Stamp to thier own as soon
as that option is installed. The next step will be to allow access to all
other characters with that Ownership Stamp, so let's try to be fair and get
them changed before that area is finished, so that characters that are not
yours will not be accessable.
90May10 9:32 pm from Stormbringer @The Mall [455-8615]
Samurai class serves no special purpose but represents honor and respect, It
is a step above Fighter, in the future only the samurai will be able to use
oriental armor/weapon(s). Storm.
90May10 11:59 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
The REG Door has now been set up to allow only one registration. However all
slaves now appear on the List of Characters and any death slot can be
refilled. This is still under modifications and will no dount be altered more.
I attempted to stamp all slaves with character name ownership to the proper
real players. If I missed and/or messed up in this please let me know and I
shall make appropriate changes. We are in transition from one system of
loading the game to another so expet some bugs rearing thier ugly heads. Just
report them in Bug Report and we shall try to make this a quick and easy
transitional period.
90May11 12:57 am from James Hilchie @The Mall [455-8615]
What good is the katana? I've seen it in battle and I must say that it isn't
any more effective than a two-handed sword.
90May11 1:04 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
I forgot to mentioned that I cleared a lot of deadwopod out when editing the
character record file and all dead characters were chopped. So instead of
getting the 'This Character Reported Killed" prompt it will simply not be
recognised. A new technique to address duplicate naming may have to be
devised.
90May11 1:17 am from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
It is important to note Captain Planteur, that the motion before Council was
not put forward by me, nor unless a tie, as chairperson I have no vote on that
matter. On a personal level I will say that they had the chance of staying at
the Dome and facing all accusations, yet choose to run again with Goblins in
thier party. There can be no doubt in my mind of the guilt, yet as stated it
is not my choice alone...
90May11 3:05 pm from Stormbringer @The Mall [455-8615]
The katana is a one handed weapon, it does 1 to 12 hit points of damage. In
the future, Dan may install two handed fightening style, allowing a character
to use two weapons... a two-handed sword takes you guessed it, two hands
therefore no shield and only one weapon can be used. At present however due
to game mechanics it is comprimable to the two-handed sword. Storm.
90May10 8:59 pm from Dr. Who @The Mall [455-8615]
Also the O-yori is a much lighter, more protective and cheaper armor...
How much in days and silver would this transaction be?
90May11 from Snake Eye Troll @The Mall [455-8615]
One wonders about second chances... yet I suspect some form of settlement
would sometime have to be eventually reached, or one would then not be talking
war, but genocide. Though Krondor no longer stands in it's former glory;
Krondorians walk the Realm...
Goblins are however another story and should be made a season of... Goblin
Hunting anyone? :-)
90May11 2:49 pm from Knightflyer 2 @The Mall [455-8615]
Your time in this realm may offer a different vantage point, Snake Eye, yet in
my mind's eye, Krondor sleeps. Sleeps in the meditating form of Lord Ulfgar,
whose ranks I have served. Perhaps you cast your thoughts back to ancient days
of the Wizard Enduval, which I have heard were glorious, yet in thier passing
dimmed not the light of Krondor, the ancient Dutchie of King Mandorallen.
90May12 10:55 am from Hell-Hound 9b @The Mall [455-8615]
I speak as a true Krondorian by any definition, now in the employ of the
Council. Although Wizard, Enduval was a Lord as well. Stretching back to the
original Council. Although Ulfgar did unseat him, remember it was done in a
surprise attack while in meditation. Yet those are old scars that have had
time for healing. Krondor and it's might walk more than in the hearts and
minds of historians, but in those who call Silverthorn not a port but home.
90May13 6:01 pm from Gen Caritas Knights @The Mall [455-8615]
You are quite mistaken Bandit3, we did not run with the Goblin party. We
called in a mariner still loyal to Caritas and chased the Goblins, in hope of
finding and raiding their camp. The Goblins must have had too much of a head
start for we didn't catch their fleet but we did capture the Goblin Major1. A
fact which you can't seem to remember.
As to the legislation about the eviction of Caritas. I will grant you one
thing Bandit3, you didn't introduce it, for that was done by Ulfgar. Should
his motion pass (which would require Bandit3's vote) I will inform the
Council that we will not be captured. If Ulfgar's motion does pass, and the
Prince and I are evicted, we too shall meditate till the harvests that way
ensuring a shot at Ulfgar when he returns. Of course, such steps cannot go
underway until Bandit3 has made his decision on the matter one way or another.
90May14 11:47 am from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
The Old Capital is in wrapping up stages of being secured by Council Forces. I
have taken a personal hand in the opperation. This has been my first travel to
the northern islands and has given me a greater insight to the Caritas issue.
Good citizens have been found offering no resistance and I realize that
Caritas deserves a voice, if temporarily a traitorous one, in the Council. I
have therefore offered Prince Marcus the following terms. If The General of
the Caritas Knights resigns from Council, thereby giving up all claim of title
and land and the Prince renounces all claim to any lands of the Realm except
for Caritas Keep (newly restored to it's former glory) and lands surrounding
it for 10 hexes in all direction then I shall cast my tieing vote as Chairman
to defeat the motion. Otherwise before midnight I shall have no recourse but
to carry the motion.
All citizens of the Old Capital are to report to me and set mode to 2 as well
as open any gates they may have locked. An incident in the central island may
yet come to blows if no response is made...
90May14 2:39 pm from BRETT MUMFORD @The Mall [455-8615]
I just had the screen lock-up on me for several seconds then scroll it,
print the date, scroll it again, print the date again, hold for a couple of
seconds and finally continue with the journey.
90May14 5:19 pm from Chris Gray @The Mall [455-8615]
How much is ore worth and what can be done with it??
Black Night
90May14 7:19 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
Ore is a non-renewable resource. On first attempt to mine a mountain hex type
it's total Ore value is deducted and stored. All future mining attempts deduct
from that random amount. Right now there is lots of Ore yet that will not
always be the case. Armorer Character Types can make weapons and armor from
Ore as well as Markets have stronger gate guards the larger the Ore Deposit.
90May14 11:24 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
I am pleased to announce Caritas has excepted my terms, which may save further
bloodshed to flow. The General of Caritas Knights has resigned from the
Council. The Lords of the Council now are Ulfgar, Nigel Troll, Prince Marcus
and myself.
90May15 12:23 am from Dundain Aberon @The Mall [455-8615]
What is the status of a person who builds a castle in unoccupied lands?
90May15 1:59 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
The name is no longer nessasary to enter REG Area with a characeter loaded as
the program now should know which player is logged in. When run from REG entry
at the password prompt the prompt for name will still be given. This is to
speed the entry process. With future additions to the REG area in the realm of
character management, it may become an active area in game play.
90May15 6:51 am from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
Dundain Aberon:
At present moment, this may have a good chance in Lordship of the Lower
House, once formed. It could also mean a lesser title should it be land
already claimed. I suggest you make an appeal to the Council. I could be your
intermediate if you care to leave private mail.
90May15 3:57 pm from Paileon Fireside @The Mall [455-8615]
Re: Ore Value
During a war, such as now, Ore is of value. If you've looked at the
price of a good set of chainmail lately, you'll understand why. Smiths, as I
will be in a few weeks, will barter ore for finished product or gold. Once a
smith has got ore avalible, he can forge it in to pikes or plowshares.... Or
armor. The sellling price of the finished hardware is for him to
establish.... Considering the market prices these days, a handsome fare can
be made as a smith; more than enough to compensate for being tied to the forge
most of the time.... You just send apprentices to do your running about.
Paileon Fireside

So, ore can be used for trading?

90May15 6:13 pm from Chris Gray @The Mall [455-8615]
The Black Night, while in early retirement has heard of the use of his name
by some idiot, and has returned to show that the name Black Night, is an
honorable one.
90May15 11:14 pm from Dr. Who @The Mall [455-8615]
Distinguished Councilmen, in all fairness I believe it is time to
'restock' your council with younger, more active PC's as you are dwindling in
numbers...
I believe another 3-5 more councilmen/women should be added if they
have keeps or high positions to a Lord/Councilman at the present.
This should be done through sound reasoning,trust and credentials;
A keep,
A known postion,
A 'sponsor' (IE a councilman)
An investigation/record sweeping of sorts,
and a few questions on background or intelligence.
90May16 7:07 am from Dundain Aberon @The Mall [455-8615]
My engineer has begun the recostruction of the ruins on the island that has a
gate at 10181. It will be made of wooden walls and gate (as that was the
original building material.) and will in time be given at least one house,
market, temple, and guild. The Western Wall has been built.
To my knowledge, this land was open for settling.

Password changes are now functionable through the REG Door area.
90May16 11:24 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
In the REG Area it is now possible to load another character that has the same
loyalty as the name of the character loaded through Option 4 of that menu.
This gives the player who controls the character that the other character is
loyal to all the options available to alter characters in that area. This
includes Password changes. Since the bug for changing passwords is fixed
players could reclaim characters that might be lost this way. Soon to be
introduced will be an "Ownership Field Change Option". Only the real owner
will be able to access this and can then give away the character in it's
fullest sence. The plan from here is to install sections of the Utility into
the game, like REG Door was, so that the movement areas can be engaged. A
leader of a battle could then change characters involved in the attack in such
things as mode and direction to move and then run the Utility Area and all the
characters would move off and interact as the Utility handles it now. For
MORTAL users an updated map (screen size) could be viewed with the affected
characters moving on it. The password changing option would be there if the
Leader needed a more hands on handling of that character. I am thinking of
having screen saves of the map that the mortal users will see and save it to
file so that a player, whose characters had been encountered, could run the
sequences of the map updates in a Utility like SCRDUMP or TKCMAP, should they
choose to download the files. Any thoughts of mods or additions in this area
please give your two cents in the Royal Blood Inn room.

I want to get into the market at hex 22250 in the Capital.
90May16 3:03 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
Option 7 of the Main Menu is now named 'Outside Options'. There is a sub-menu
that has the choices Transfer and Engage AutoMover. The Transfer is the
Inter-Map Transfer Routines and the Engage AutoMover will engage the sections
of the Utility that move characters with automove fields set to other than
'Hold Position' as well as Wandering NPCs. It is crude right at the moment and
will leave the last character of the list loaded when returning to main menu.
I have added a character called 'Filler' which will remain loaded so that
player's will not have their characters accessed until this repair is made.
Should anyone create a new character right now my temporary solution will not
work and that new character will likely be the one left loaded. I know what
needs to be done, just don't have the time to fix it right now so please do
not create new characters until I post the fix has been completed. Also
player's who want privacy of location should not set thier characters to move
for it can still be monitored by a player who chooses this option, at the
moment.
90May16 3:19 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
OK the fix is in (easier than I had thought) and the correct character is left
loaded when return to the Main Menu is made. This will now be modified over
time to give a real time feed back with preset characters and Wandering NPCs.
Any ideas in this regard (as always) is welcome in Royal Blood Inn room.

The AutoMOver now does things a bit more discreetly printing only a '.' to the
screen instead of the character's name, owner and location.:) This shall be
modified to display data on relavent characters though. It was neat I moved
the character I had loaded that way and there was a message to the fact in the
player's log when I went into the REG Door to do some stuff. So even before
the fancier stuff the movement of all soldiers could be monitored that way.
90May17 7:08 pm from Goblin General @The Mall [455-8615]
Council, taking a vacation, or is the realization of defeat starting to take
its toll? I haven't seen a single Goblin casuality in the Obituary for weeks,
and you are no more closer to my Master than at the start. Your progress in
halting us is nill, but that may change should you accept my Master's offer
which I shall now report:
The Goblin Master is willing to come forth into this world for a duel which if
victorious would gain him the crown. My Master proposes this... a duel with
any lord of the Council (or for that matter a Captain agreed upon by the
Council) with the crown going to the winner, regardless of which side the
victor is on.
Think about this carefully Council for my Master himself is willing to come
forth, the only event which could close the war, for as long as the Master is
only relaying orders, he'll never die. Besides there must be a lord amongst
yourelves ambitous enough for the crown... remember part of my Master's offer
would give the crown to the victor, whether it be a Council lord or my Master
himself.
90May17 8:47 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
Contraire Goblin General! The debate of a crown in the Realm has been debated
and indeed voted on in Council without passing. I think that I can speak for
my fellow remaining Lord's of the Council, except the Royal Windbag Prince
Marcus, that we have no desire for a King or Crown. You were offered once
before a fair contest that you ran from... you shall not be afforded such an
opportunity again. We are pleased with the War effort having nipped your
pipeline to the Council Floor in the bud. Up until this point it has been one
of Politicians, yet the military forces are mounting and securing Keeps as we
speak, and when I am ready they shall be unleashed apon the Realm to hunt your
minions down like wild dogs that they are!
90May17 11:15 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
Bugs may be experienced in the AutoDirection setting. This is due to the fact
that I am breaking down the Integer Value of the Home Hex Field in the
character record to IP, Toggle and 1..15 Value like the Hex Record. The 1..15
will be the direction field, those over value 6 will be used later for such
things as irratic movement etc.. The Toggle will be some true/false setting
like gates locked in the future and the IP fields is being set to be the
distance to move in the set direction. This will giveonline 'Enact Automove'
much more accuracy as well as offline movement through the Utility. However
until adjusted unless you want to stand the chance of getting caught in a bug
best to not change setting outof 'Hold Position' until announced that all is
well.
90May18 12:49 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
The good news - it seems fixed and now distance settings can be choosen up to
a value of 500. Refinements will be made to deduct from that amount as the
character is moved. The bad news is that the bug was related to the fact I was
reading from the wrong field (section of hex) and some players may notice
characters have been moved up to 6 hexes on a few occations. Now with a
combined use of the REG Area and Enact AutoMove an Officer Type could easily
manage a large force in battle by setting them all and then running the
AutoMove. Battles and encounters will happen the same as in .H BATUTIL, so for
example a character in Mode 2 could be forced to change loyalty this way,
which of course has a whole new meaning with access of that character then a
possibility. Sort of a surrender.
90May18 2:08 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
During AutoMove Testing I discovered a bug if the character which is loaded is
set to move as well. I was testing changing an encountered character's
loyalty, in mode 2, with the character that I had loaded. It worked except for
the fact that the loaded character was left, at what I think, was the location
of the last characeter moved in the AutoMove, teleporting him hundreds of
hexes away. It may be an interesting feature to leave for such applications as
Hyper-Space, yet beware of it until decided apon. As long as the loaded
character is not set to move all seems to work fine.
90May18 2:50 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
The Utility will now move the character a preset distance, as the AutoMove,
yet at present this will be repeated each run. I will next deduct the hexes
moved from the desired distance so eventually Distance would equal 0 and
Direction could be set to Hold Position in such an event, inside the Utility.
90May18 4:28 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
I believe that the teleporting has been fixed, in the scenario mentioned
above. MP Values are left out of wack still and shall be the next adjustment.
90May18 6:14 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
I think I've reset all the characters who had been flagged slaves during
testsing and forgotten to be turned back. Should they have been hired out due
to loyalty settings not being a legal named character, they should now be
recoverable through the REG Door area by the bonified player. I appollogies
for this oversight on my part when changing them the first time. The old
'forgot to copy the backups scenario'.
90May19 6:22 am from Goblin General @The Mall [455-8615]
Bandit3, secure all the keeps you want because there is no place which is
safe from our forces. Need I remind you that it was yourelf that ran from the
duel, my log shall serve as proof to that. We were all set for the duel and
only hours aways but then the supposidly new evidence convicting Goblin
Soldier7 of Fire Elf's death, gave YOU the oppurtunity to withdraw.
By not having the duel for the crown (the Master would even fight a captain
for it if Council approved and no lord accepts his challenge), you only
prolong the war. The Master isn't about to come forth in the heat of battle...
and until his death the war is on, unless the Council surrenders. We shall be
demonstating our power soon enough, and just remember, we gave you the
oppurtunity to end this war, and any further casualities you may blame
yourself. Incidently I want to hear from the lords themselves in their
decision.

90May19 2:27 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
War has a way of affecting such things... dependent on supply and demand you
see. However in most Council Keeps Armorers are trained or being trained so as
to outfit our Troops the better... so that they may well better stand a chance
of truely ridding our Realm of the enemy. Lord Nigel Troll, Commander of the
Royal Troll Guard, has offered free equipment to those that serve the
Council's Cause, of ridding Goblin Presence in our world.
90May19 9:11 pm from Dr. Who @The Mall [455-8615]
I have noticed that and have left a message to Farmer Troll...One of the two

90May21 3:47 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
Some file corruption was makeing the later part of the Character/Owner Record
out of sync. This made it so that some legal characters, when loaded would not
find the player's name and thus not allow access to REG Area from the game.
This I hope has been rectified.
90May22 10:08 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
The AutoMove has a lot more screen output, so that I can track down the
existing bugs. Seems to be working reasonable on last test I was able to
change another character in mode 2's loyalty with the character causing the
encounter in the AutoMove the loaded character in the game. No promises that
teleports don't still happen and characters left set to move will have thier
positions disclosed at the moment to any player that runs that area. I will be
removing them as soon as no more tracing seems nessasary. For now players will
be better able to report any irregularities in that area.
90May22 11:34 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
I am pleased to announce that the Old Capital has been totally secured by
Council Forces. Troll Kingdom and Spectrial Warrior as you had the sence to
change your loyalty to me, you have been moved out of the Gate yet not harmed
in any way. The same could not be said for Island Guard5 who refused after
repeated warnings to change his loyalty. Dome Fighter 1, bravely, gave him
combat and he at last feel to the Lance. I hope this was not on Son of
Warlord's command that he repeatedly would not open the gate, change loyalty,
or surrender. Indeed he had been changed once by the automover and then
SOMEONE changed his loyalty and mode again. At any rate... the Capital is now
secured.
90May23 10:24 am from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
I think the AutoMove Area is well on the way to being totally functionable.
Any players that may find a use for it, I would appreciate that they try it
out and report any irregularities. It is good for 'capturing' characters found
in mode 2. With a Character in Mode three encountering such character, they
will be changed loyalty tomatch the character in mode 3. They will then appear
on the character's command range option list, of the character whose name is
that loyalty.

I take it that if I find a keep that'S empty(no people) then I can claim
it, right?
90May23 11:28 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
Chris: I would refer you to the file CHARTER.TXT in the Scribe Shop's
directory. In particular article 7, pertaining to murdered Lords. There have
been a number which have temporarily placed the Keeps of those Lords in
Council possesion. This would include Stonefist, Solice, Eerie (?), to name a
few. Baron Dwarf has been granted his Keep by Lord Nigel Troll, Commander of
the Royal Troll Guard and Lord of the Council. If you found such and 'empty'
Keep, I would suggest you petition the Council, concerning it's ownership.
90May24 1:11 am from Thorin Dwarf @The Mall [455-8615]

90May24 11:50 am from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
The process of entrance to the Council could be commenced by any Lord making
motion to the floor. I would suggest that you petition a Lord for such an

Thanks to the dilligent work of Dundain Aberon a finished map of the entire

So it shall be... all lands previously named under my banner as New Domia
shall now beknown as Kell.
90May27 9:01 pm from Goblin General @The Mall [455-8615]
Master, my forces have let you down. We have failed to put the Council forces
on its knees, when we had the oppurtunity. We had the Council down to only a
few lords but now they are rebounding... new Captains are being formed on a
weekly basis. I have advised my soldiers to make their way to the portal as to
change their identity to be safe from any counterattack by the Council.
Bandit3, you have won, and the war is over or at least for now. Should your
numbers ever dwindle to the point they were at one time, I may not be around,
but the Master will be. It's too bad the duel couldn't have been fought, but I
know who the victor would have been.
Don't consider this a formal surrender for the one thing a Goblin never does
is surrender. If you wish to call it anything, then perhaps a minor victory,
or a temporary drawback for our forces.

90May28 11:27 am from Eric Planteur @The Mall [455-8615]
I would like to inform all that the Keep of the Great King Mandorellen has
been restored and has been re-opened.... Rations, market and temple facilites
are available to all, and with pre-arrangement, Guild facilites as well.
With a war so soon just ended, I request that all travellers passing to me
inform me of their expected arrival at least two days ahead of time. As well,
we have a mariner at the Keep's disposal, so if any require transport, that
too can be arranged.
The Gate is located at 23328, with an outdoor market at 23081 and a like
Temple at 23585.
Trespassers (those who wander through without telling me or my Guard Captain
Knightflyer 2) will be dealt with as is seen fit by the patrol that discovers
them.

90May28 3:37 pm from Dan Johnson @The Mall [455-8615]
Re Maps:
I am finding the prototype copy I have to be more than adiquate, as is...
from sitting at the console and looking to the wall a mariner can be moved
within a hex of destination over a couple of hundred hex voyage. There will be
changes to it, yet if no irriversable coloring is used, the map as is could be
easily upgraded. I will be checking into color cost, yet I will get 5-10
printed up of the present version and announce it to this room. Hopefully in
the next few days. I had found when the older map was available, there was a
certain interest, and indeed enjoyment and pride by Map Owner's handling the
coloring themselves.
90May28 7:24 pm from Bandit3 @The Mall [455-8615]
War is still declared as far as the Council is concerned. Should you be too
